So, I thought I'd scroll around on TI's website to look at their APPs. So I went into the TI-89 Titanium ones located here:
http://education.ti.com/educationportal ... html?bid=3
I clicked on the "Calculus Made Easy for TI-89 Titanium" link. The APP must be purchased, so I thought, "hey it wouldn't be too bad to pay $10-15 on an APP like this". I clicked on "Purchase" and found out that the APP costs $149.95! INCONCEIVABLE!!!
Why buy that when you could buy a whole new calculator and save $50?...
UGH! Disgusting!

You'd be surprised what companies do when nobody is watching them. (referring to the extreme free market in the us).
However, it's probably very much possible to sue them in Europe. Perhaps you can make some profit in the process

I don't understand, does that come on a new calculator? It's not in the list of preloaded APPs. Why would you buy a new calculator instead of purchasing this APP?
I think that price could be justified if it were a very good calculus APP. That's about the price of your calculus text book.

Ha why? Charging whatever you want for something is the basis of your economies as well. They aren't going to sell many copies and nobody is forced to buy it.driesguldolf wrote:However, it's probably very much possible to sue them in Europe.

Let's totally sue! Who do that think they are? Making bad offers we can easily pass up.

That software is more of a rip-off than Microsoft Office! Eew!
Re: UGH! Disgusting!
Well, it does import xls and possible xlsx files. I've gotta admit, that's pretty darn impressive. And I wouldn't surprised if buying the rights jacked up the price like that.
