Crunchy OS

Post by gimpynerd »

figured i could get some responses here:

hey dwedit do you think that maybe you could hide all those appvars and provide a tool in the shell for managing them? i think that would be cool...

also tvf doesn't work right in crunchyos...don't know why...

What's this about no writeback?
You know your hexadecimal output routine is broken when it displays the character 'G'.

I don't see a reason to hide savegames.

AR people like me don't like all those varibles in the memory menus...it's not that hard to hide them...and a tool in the shell would be cool anyway.

i use crunchy unless im playing TVF...it sorts programs faster :P

Is Dwedit the creator of CrunchyOS?! Dang! Every big programmer is on these forums!

I've never tried any OS other than Mirage.

OK, no writeback = if Phoenix is archived then Crunchyos will NOT save your data in the program. To my knowledge there are 2 practical ways of saving progress in ASM games:
1) Appvar
2)Writeback ---Does not work in CrunchyOS.

neither does mirageos...it just unarchives the program which makes it garbage collect more and wears out the flash...

CrunchyOS creates patch files as separate appvars which contain the difference between the original program and write-backs made to the program file.

Probably the only people complaining about it also run mirage.
