madskillz, thanks for the help. I'll be using 8x8 for the graphics, but send me the sprites if you like so I can take a look at them. I'm sure it'll help with inspiration or ideas. email is me@juansuave.com

soon, let's say as soon as I have something nice to show off, I'll move this the 'Announce your projects' section. :)

How is this?
I don't think the jeep would look like a jeep if it was 8x8, so i made it 16x16.

You can make the tiles 8x8 Blueskies, but you are going to have to make the jeep 16x16 if you want any good detail at all! :D

those sprites are really good. I think I can use those, but I'll need 8x8 sprites. I might be able to use 12x12, and I think yours will fit in that space. I don't know though, 8x8 would make things so much easier. Thanks a lot for those though, because they'll help me out a lot.

Ok..well I redid some of the Jeep sprites...but they were made for real greyscale. So the quality isn't as nice but it is still pretty good I think.

There's just one little problem IMHO. The two vertical states shouldn't be mirror images of each other, since it's not a perpendicular top view.

Madskillz, I love the style of the jeep you made, but I don't think it could fit diagonally in the 16x16 space.
I definitly agree that the tiles should be 8x8. Maybe I'll make a mock-up or some tiles later today just for something to do; I'd love to see this game be made. If you want, I can help with code or GFX.

I think they were mirror images of each other in the real game...I'll fire up the ol' Nintendo tonight and fix them up a bit maybe. I forgot about the diagonal sprites. I'll make up some in the 16x16 size. I could actually make the sprites even bigger...they aren't fully 16x16. They're 16 wide but maybe only 12-14 pixels tall...for more detail I can fill them up all the way, but we'll see. I just got an idea for the vertical sprites...I'll try it out and post some more with the diagonal ones too later tonight. Thanks for all the praise! :)

Here is what the turret could look like.

It seems a little crowded, so maybe I shouldn't have tried to make it look so much like the origonal.
Here is just the turret without the base: Image

Ha ha..nice. Well I looked at the game and the jeep's sprites seem to be exact mirror iamges of each other. Here is the jeep, diagonal included!

Image Comments/improvements...always welcome!

Those look great, I just got one problem: the horizontal jeep images seem a bit too big compared to the others.
