TiCalc widget

Post by anykey »

I just completed work on a ticalc widget!
For all of you people who don't know what a widget is:
http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/dashboard/
Type in your search query, and the widget opens up the results page in your browser! Fun!

Download it here:

seeing as how 9/10 pc's are windows computers, it might be a lot more helpful if you could make a windows-compatible widget that could do this.

What you did is pretty good though, if you have a mac.

It looks very nice, and im sure a windows version would be pretty easy to do as well.

ummmm...
I don't think you get it.
The dashboard is a feature that only macs have. A widget is really just an html document that uses some of the cool OSX libraries. There isn't going to be a windows version. Ever. You guys should have clicked that link with information about the dashboard first...

Sorry...Ben just pointed me to a program that does widgets in windows...
I guess I will do a port, then!
...assuming I can get ahold of a computer that would let me test it...

I looked through the opera features and couldn't find anything about widgets. Perhaps you are mistaken?

I took a look at it a little earlier and decided that it wasn't worth it to do a port. I also looked at doing a windows port, but decided not to due to the horrible documentation and odd widget format.
If anybody else would like to do the porting, I'll be happy to lend you the images and code I used (including the .psd files).

You should really port a widget to Kapsules, its a free widget system for windows, one that I happen to be the author of a few widgets myself.

Heres the link:

if you guys are that hyped up about getting something for windows visit http://www.osx-e.com. only decent (aka mostly freeware, not shareware, and it works better. Flyakite replaces lots of crappy M$ dll files with 3rd party ones.) website Ive found out there for making your Windows comp look like a mac.

You can get themes to make your windows setup look like a mac (even old school mac os's :P) ... but there isnt much point.
