Metroid sprites

Post by DarkAuron »

To prove even moreso that I'm not completely inactive in my existance, I've been working on some Samus sprites in 4 level grayscale. See below!

Conceptual screenshots (may have nothing to do with Metroid 68k):

Sprite workspace (in case anyone doesn't believe I do this by hand).

as always, DA is insanely good at gs. If the LCD driver on the 89ti was better, I'd say though are perfect size for an 89 screen.

what size are those btw?

The samus sprites are constrained to 16x24 and the morphball is a mere 8x8. If any of you remember Ben Cherry's Metroid 68k, his samus sprites are actually the same size.. and after contacting him it looks like I'll be doing graphics for him :P This won't slow me down from doing other things though.

Updated. I added the other standing aim sprites, plus the standard jump/fall sprites.

Timendus: Yes.

leofox: Because when I make the sprites, I resize to 45%, spiff up the smaller, colored version, then convert to 4lvl GS and enhance that and outline. Takes me at least half an hour per sprite. It'd take extra work for the b&w ones which I really don't care to make.
