You know your hexadecimal output routine is broken when it displays the character 'G'.

I thought it came from a game? That was a original idea? Sounds great none the less!

The original game is by Kevin Ng.

http://www.lavasurfer.com/kevin-ng/games.html#laser

I ported the game to J2ME/MIDP1 a while back (using badja's level design). It's got a bug in it meaning that certain levels are unsolvable, and I wiped out my Java stuff a while back without making a backup so don't have the code to fix it.
http://benryves.com/wap/ <- you can download the unfinished .jad/.jar from there, I think.
Kevin Ng seemed happy enough at the port, badja seems to have vanished into the distance though.

Nice, I wasn't sure where it came from. And I will give your java version a shot later also!

Coool!! I have always loved playing that game (wish it had more levelsets), and it's good to see games going calc-->gaming console instead of the other way around for once.

I'm pretty sure he'd be cool with it. As long as he's in the credits. The Aztec theme was a nice touch.

Laser Mayhem also bears a great resemblance with "Saving Rover" or something like that. A very old game in which you have so work your way through laser rooms with mirrors and stuff to save your dog :P

I do my posting blindfolded. Last week I tried typing a PM and wound up bidding for toenails on eBay.

What other games have taken the calc->gaming colsole path? Didn't that happen to Joltima at one point? And I remember seeing SQRXZ on PDAs a few years back.

Some guy made an avalanche port from his Ti-83 to the PSP, rather simple first program, but I showed him some ti sites...he was really excited heh.
