I've gotta give threefingered my...thumbs-up on that, ASM is only as hard as you make it. A project like the N is definately challanging but not out of reach.
My diet consists of nails, code-stealers, and HP fans.
Projects:

Robot War [TI-82, TI Flash App]
Sonic the Hedgehog [Multiplatform]

If someone seriously wanted to do this, I have made a routine for maps with 4x4 tiles and a 4x4 sprite routine with clipping.
I will have to see what 4x4 sprites I can come up with. I like the idea of a game with 4x4 sprites. I have made some 3x3 mario sprites and tiles, though they look pretty bad.

From who did you quote? I can't find him/her.
"They say that sea was created by a man named Maarten Zwartbol, a long time ago...." - Duck, an old Corbin version

ok, cool. just post them here or PM them to me when you get done. Once again, I probably won't start on this for a month or two, but it's nice to see people interested :)

Hmmm, for 3x3 sprites you could set the LCD in 6byte mode and make it easier, right?

:o 6 byte mode?never heard of. But possible: 96/6=16 !
N is a cool game, but we simply havent got enough pixels. That our main problem.

I was considering learning ASM, and using this game as my first project. What is the best guide? the 28 days one?

This same game is proposed as a calc program idea a little farther down in this same forum, called "some one should make this game for ti" link: http://joepnet.com/hosted/maxcoderz/php ... php?t=1019

How about if I post them on The Sprites Wiki that I just started? Make an account there and PM me here if you want to contribute to the new site.

hey, would you wanna do a mini group project thingy? I was thinking along the same lines as you: learn ASM and use this. It'd be really cool if you wanna.
