Calculator Romantics

Post by merthsoft »

Well, I wanted to ask a girl out, but I wanted to be different, break the common "Will you go out with me?" way of doing things, so I wrote a program. The first part of the program was a little game, where you walked an "X" around, and stepped on an "O", and wehn you stepped on the "O", it said some stuff, and then I had it write out a song I wrote for her, then at the top of the screen it said "Will you be my girlfriend?" With hearts randomly popping up. It seems like the epitome of geek/nerd to do it this way, but she thought it was sweet and said yes.
Since I figured not many of you (if any) have done this, it might be another break from the normal calculator uses. With all the crazy stuff that's happened over the years (grayscale, USB thumb drives, sound), this may be another unexpected calculator use (though it doesn't compare to the magnitude of those "discoveries")...

So, just because it's geeky to use your calculator, doesn't mean it can't be romantic...

(On a weird(er) note, our anniversery will be Friday the 13th)...

You're the lucky one. A stunt like that would only get me a face-full of mace and a restraining order. Come to think of it, this is the week I get bumped down to 100ft.

Awww.... isn't that cute!

I tend to avoid anything calculator related when talking to girls. Most nerdy girls scare me.

Hahaha :P That's funny :)

When I was bored some time ago I programmed some totally useless Basic program on my gf's calc. When she ran it she was actually disappointed that it didn't spit out hearts and "I love you"'s ;)

Oh I guess you were one of the lucky ones

if i do that my popularity will go down. alot of sophomores know me and i have alot of friends... i'd be screwed if ANYBODY found out that i was trying to impress a girl by making a calculator program for her. some kids already know i tried to turn a calculator into an ipod...

You can always make a "move" on them
Lol cwap. That'd suck to make a move and then get mobbed my mass girls. At least you'll be close to lots and lots of them! more than you might in your life :D (in the room doesn't count... we're talkin like body contact)
