Why do you need a verification email?

If you can login, that means you entered. If you can't login, that means you didn't. 'Tis simple.

I'm not member of UTI forums and to register into the contest it requires me to type in member ID and passcode. I'm not member so I can't fill those areas out so I register for a member ID. No verification e-mail so their site doesn't even have my account "active" yet = no contest for me :x

the contest username and passcode is separate from the forum one. You don't have to register for the forums. You just enter a username and password, which you then use to login to the contest page.

I will check about the forum registration though.

So I see the rules have been posted. It says we can use ASM libs, but can we write our own ASM libs? Or is it just restricted to Omnicalc/xLib? I would ask on the UnitedTI forum, but registering requires email validation, which is the WORST idea ever.

The following routines from assembly libraries can be used:
- Any sprite display routines. This does not include XLib's DrawTileMap routine.
- Any routines for Direct Input or other key input.
- Routines to turn the Run Indicator on and off. Use or nonuse of the Run Indicator will not be a factor in evaluating programs.
- Routines to Clear, Invert, or Blacken the whole screen.
The only assembly routines that can be used are those that have been uploaded to ticalc.org or unitedti.org as of the start of the contest.
You can't write your own. But you do have a reasonably wide choice.

How bad can email validation be?

Wouldn't it be possible to write a whole strategy game in ASM now, upload it to ticalc.org and once the comp begins, use that game and start it up with a basic program and some input from the user? :P

Is a game like Go with AI allowed?
Currently coming up with a new signature idea... since my forum avatar changer was killed by an upgrade...
