I would just call it: a group of buttons next to each other which morons see as a touchscreen

It's right there... due the fact that you can access all fields/tiles directly without selecting them first

i would probably call it 'the buttons' since that's kinda what you use. It's not like people call the up, down, left, and right arrow buttons "Attack Commands" in MtSQuest - True >.>

I think it's a good idea, it would be great for math class, it's less obvious that you're playing. I think more games should use the many buttons of the ti83, instead of just 6 or 7.
