Second? Bull. Nintendo had a perfect strategy all the way through.

They have 10 times the yields.
The units are less expensive for the consumer.
The units are inexpensive to produce
They make a profit on every one
Games are cheaper to produce.
New controller.

Further:

Sony loses $300 on every unit
Sony can't produce it in sufficient quantities
They will miss the Christmas launch in most places.
Games cost like $70 dollars
Half of the units are sold on ebay for a grand
Sony is hated
Sony is responsible for dozens of injuries( including one persons getting shot)
No one knows how to code for the cell
Sony's batteries explode
UMD

If only the wii hardware didn't suck.

Well i wouldnt say the Wii hardware 'sucks', like GameCube it is brilliantly designed. It just lacks the graphical prowess it needs to really wow over graphics nuts.

I just hope that maybe next year developers can spend some quality time with the Wii hardware and perhaps get a bit more out of it.

Camped in Wal-Mart 14 hours for my Wii. Was 7th in line. They only had 20. Twilight Princess is delicious.

Camped for 8 hours at Target. They had 110 and I was 55th in line.

Not likely...As for strategy yes...I agree. I camped out 14+ hours just to get a wii and I didn't even plan to get one in the first place. I have to say though the only strong title the wii has is zelda. Hands down one of the best launch titles of any system. RedSteel was a big disappointment.

yes sony loses money on every system they have ever made, and yes it is a huge loss on the PS3. Sony is also in the movie and game biz. Those alone will support them per every machine sold. Do you think that the price of materials wont go down? The games are $60 bucks. The also have a flagship launch title that will blow your sucks off. You cant ignore the fanbase either.

Xbox didnt really have a title that stood out until gears of war. They have only sold 20 million units worldwide in a year. Which is a decent amount but not nearly what they expected.

honestly, what does the wii have? I have one in my hands the only game I have liked for it so far is zelda. The wii has one flagship title too and that is zelda hands down.

Just like Zelda, Resistance is awesome. It really shows what the system is all about. And just like Zelda it is a game that puts all the others to shame and gives you every bang for your buck and time spent getting the system.

Madskillz you might be suprised to learn that Sony barely made any profit at all over the last year, and im talking sony corp as a whole. Nintendo actually made more money than sony corp.

And nintendo will still make more money than sony this year. They actually make money on their console when they sell it!

I was just pointing out that the xbox has thus far been a big upset. I dont think the wii will be first but I think they will pull close into second if not take it completely.

to me, the 360 looks more appealing than the xbox ever did. the price is the only thing that is holding me back. if i could get a $100 core or $200 premium i would.
