Indeed. But if a diamond were to be perfect with ABSOLUTLY no broken carbon links, or any problems, then maybe not so easily broken.

it should therotically be 3 times as strong as an avarage piece of cellulose (main component of wood and plants for those who arent good at biology).
3 times? yes: all carbon atoms would be linked to 4 others, in normal carbon chains they are connected to 2, so why 3? well, we all know "a chain is only as strong as its weakest link" but it doesnt apply to a 3 dimensional structure because other elements of the structure can take over.
Besides, you dont hit your normal processor with a hammer either, do you?

..now I want peanut butter...anyways, synthetic diamonds will become rather cheap in the future so use in chips seems plossible...
