The Charas Project

Post by dysfunction »

This is a really interesting site, for those who are pixel-art challenged; basically you customize a characte set, faceshot, or battle character set, from body types, clothing, hair, face, and items. This way you can have completely customized characters. The makers of the site allow you to use any of the resulting custom sprites without crediting them or anything. Unfortunately they are a bit too big (around 32x16) for use in most 83 games, but the faceshots are a good size (32x32), and the chars could probably be used on an 89 or in a battle system.

If you want customizable calc characters, just wait until project Dark comes out. :)

There are links on the right side and it's pretty easy to get use to.

I created one, but I wasn't totally satisfied with the end result so I did a bit of editing

Theres different types of characters to build off of but they all follow the same general RM2K style. *shrug*

Well, I intend to use those sprites for an 89 game made with TIGCC and Extgraph.

edit: some sprites made from the medium character maker. They are 24 width and 25 height. Do you think that's too big for the 89? 89s have 160 width and 100 height

I'd say that's a great size for 89, it would look about like 16x16 on 83.

Calcul, those are really nice! You should make those for the 83+ too.

Mind if I use those in a gameboy game? I've been wanting to make one for a while and those look awesome!

Wow, can't seem to make any good monster sprites out of this. Looks like I'll do that on my own.
