Benjamin Ryves did try to make a 3d golf game for the 83 calcs back in 03. He says the engine didn't really work very well for golf. Here is the game, as far as he got. For some reason, it doesn't like my ti-connect.

Does anyone know why some programs don't work with ti-connect?

Anyway, I think that a 2-d top down mini-golf game like the web one I posted would be easiest to code, and still fun to play.

Benjamin Ryves also made a game called Stigma, and then made it support external levels for stigma 2. This seems like a perfect engine for the game. It supports just the kind of ball movement we need, bounces off walls, floors that affect the ball movement, "hole" to get the ball into to win, etc.

I liked Ben's golf game, although the limitations made it hard to know how far you were away from the hole. I think a top-view mini golf game would be very sweet and incredibly addictive if done correctly.

32

So, does anyone want to program this? It seems like it could be an easy modification of the stigma engine by Ben Ryves. I'd do it, but I already have some programs to work on.

Does anyone know how to convert AShell83 programs to Ion or Mirage or Crunchy easily? I'd prefer not to install another shell on my calc to play Vertigo.

Actually, I'm sorta looking for a new (and unusual) project to try. The bad side is I can't do 83+ ASM, so it'd be a while before it ever gets to 83+...if ever.

You write about Ben as if he doesn't read and post on these forums...

Oops. for some reason I forgot.

Well, in that case:

Ben, would you like to make a mini-golf game? Do you think that stigma is up to the task?
