Should the battle system have commands for the user to choose (Attack,Defend, etc.) or should the battle system require players to memorize certain buttons to press for a corresponding command? (Ex: 2nd = Attack)

It's definitely NOT DEAD. That's for sure :) . I just don't program as often as some other programmers out there :P . Right now, I am currently working on how the equipment shop should sell your armor sets to your three characters. (5 buyable sets per person) The last set for all characters will probably have to be obtained through some sub quest means  . After the equipment shop is done, I will start putting the pieces of the battle system together.

Equipment Shop => Battle Engine => Back to Pixel Art for Cinematics

Updates: (5/9) All siggy (minor) updates will be posted here for now...
-You can talk to every NPC in Falcon-Z80
-Forest Tileset almost done

Sorry there's not much progress from my last siggy post, it's just that pixel art starts to get really annoying for me if I do it for too long at a time...

btw Kevin, could I send pictures of my program to omnimaga because I don't have a website to post pictures and to get a url from.

I love Phantasy Star...
Currently coming up with a new signature idea... since my forum avatar changer was killed by an upgrade...

I guess it's time for an update even if it's short...BUMP

Progress speed - same slow, steady rate

I have just finished drawing the cinematic characters for Kain, Raem, and Culex. While transforming the characters from their battle engine sprites, I found out that the hair styles for a few characters needed adjustment. Needless to say, now I need to update the changes onto the sprites for battle.

So...next thing to do is to get some pictures to omnimaga, look at comments (if there are any), and rework the sprites from the battle engine.

Temporarily dropped the project due to vacation but now it's time for the project to revive itself again! Mostly, I will be just creating/adding on maps for the "Iscith Forest" mission.

Currently - Forest size is 9 screens  - About 2500 bytes worth* >.<

Divided forest into three areas
-(area name) - (total screens so far)
-Iscith Forest - (7)
-Forest Depths - (1)
-Iscith South - (1)
