I'm not gonna do anything with it, I know nothing of sound, just how to make it on a calc. The source is there if any one wants to play with it.

Benryves did a better job than I did.

It does cause batteries to run down batteries faster than normal. My bats are only 5 months old.

It might be from not unplugging the headphones before exiting mirage. Then it froze, and when I turned it back on after removing a bat, it said bats are low!

Yes, it will cause the batteries to run down more. Try using amplified headphones/speakers as you won't be directly driving the headphones.
I suspect the real problem is not unplugging the headphones. They are little more than coils of wire inside, and by plugging them in to your TI you are short-circuiting the link port (hence the "freezing" - the TIOS link interrupt is trying to "communicate" with the headphones as it works when a data line is held low). Always unplug the headphones when not in use!

Sorry, didn't see this topic untill today :) Stupid me, I always miss the good topics...
Anyway, we talked about this a while ago, and you'd fixed that, I believe? Still need me to test it perhaps?

Hmm... I'd love to see some games with proper sound... Do you think you could get it down to using <50% CPU speed (by making it mono perhaps?) and in an interrupt..?

Well, interrupts are out of the question, since there are only 4 different frequencies available (or 8 on the 83).

It was only possible for the SE because you could set the frequency of the interrupts to almost anything.

Is it possible to get quad channel stereo sound in the background on a TI83+SE/84+/84+SE?
You know your hexadecimal output routine is broken when it displays the character 'G'.

You mean in the background while play a game or as TSR?

Game yeah easy, though having more than 3 channels would mean that you would need to take special cnsideration for how things would be coded.

A tsr, No. The timers don't like halts, they won't generate an interrupt when your at one. Plus if you hit an im 1 tios won't clear the timer interrupts so it's not safe.

Onething that I wanted to try was to play a 1 bit wav in the background, it would sound like crap but be kinda cool.
