News: New forum

Post by kv83 »

We opened a "discontinued project" forum to move all inactive projects in the same folder, making the list with forum smaller.

The first projects we moved there are
- Mario (by Duck)
- Shattered Oasis (by BetaSword)

You may be wondering about other projects (like Metroid). If it's still in the list, we still believe that it will be finished some day :)

I was going to post this in the mario topic in the discontinued projects forum, but it seems that posts aren't allowed there. I don't think that this requires a new topic either. If this is a bad place for it, feel free to move it.

So, does anyone have Duck's mario? I wanted to try it out a while ago, but I never got a chance. Now it seems that the link Duck posted is broken. Does anyone know where I can get this? Or, if you have a copy, I would appreciate it if you could send it to me. My e-mail address is CompWiz17@Gmail.com. Thanks. :)

I have duck's mario. All the sprites (in calc gs format) and all the included files. I'll send it to you sometime.

great! I look forward to it. Thanks. :)

I was hoping to assess some of these smooth scrolling engines for feasability as an n game engine.

You'll have to ask him for permission to use the code.

Well of course. I would never use anyone's code without asking. I haven't gotten anywhere near the coding part of this project. I'm just looking at potential smooth-scrolling engines and assessing their viability as an engine for n game. When I get around to programming, I'll be sure to ask permission for any code I want to use before I begin to make the game. :)
