Incomplete Entries

Post by tr1p1ea »

Hey, since no-one entered the comp (well besides spengo and myself), i was wondering if anyone wants to post any 'incomplete' entries they had. As we have seen with Ben Ryves ... our socks can still be r0x0r3d even with incomplete entries!

Please if you have an incomplete entry, post it here so that it wasnt done in vein :).

I hope that Ben doesnt mind, but here is his incomplete entry (he also warns that it isnt finished and that it contains a memory leak, so please back up any stuff before looking at it (its worth it!)):

Also here is my entry:

I don't really mind - beyond the fact that I know it's a really primitive version. I was trying to go for a space theme (as you might have noticed, with the Alien "set", Star Wars text and so on).
Ultimately, I spent about a day writing those simple and unpolished effects, hit the bug then spent the next two trying to find it. I never did, so gave up and forgot about it until today.

Damm, you guys are creative. I can't understand how people can be so original. Almost makes me mad.

Both you guys did great. Nice work.

Nah, nothing that would fit the rules, but I couldn't think of anything original. It wasn't that it was hard to code I just couldn't think of anything good.

You know I never even thought of using a 3d space effects like you and ben did. I had all the code, but the idea didn't pop in my head.

Complete lack of originality on my part. I think I start brain storming for next year. :D

I started an entry way back when the competition started, but my calc erased it somehow when I wasn't using it (it just.. disappeared). However, I made a program for each section as I was adding them, and then enhanced them in the main program, so I have parts of it, and I'm putting them back together and continuing it.

It's in TI-BASIC, and it has heavy use of the line( command. So.. I name it Senilym, which is "my lines" backwards. Since the competition is over but the memory of the program is well with me, I've continued on it and I plan on finishing it this weekend, then I'll upload it to ticalc.org and here. Ah, the joys of getting back into programming..

Both are very nice. Ben's is technically superior*, but Pat has a rounder storyline. Congratulations to both!

*Which might not be the case if Pat had used my line routine. ;)

Wow tr1p your entry is impressive. It looks so good :)
The little spheres changing pattern, and the cube transforming into other things are so smooth...congrats !

Ben's is also impressive, but more demo-ish %)

I couldnt get your line routine to work CoBB ... otherwise i would have used it :).

Well if i had of given myself enough time, i would have been able to finish my own line routine ... as i really need a good one with clipping.

I really hope that your entry will get featured at ticalc.org... I am almost sure... did you already submitted it to ticalc.org?

Also note that there will no 3rd competition... though something else
