Actually black, white and greys are not colours at all ... well not chromatic colours anyways.

Black, white and shades of grey are whats known as achromatic. That being, they have no distinctive hue; only their lightness varies.

I did exactly 100 frames in mspaint, it's not programmed yet, probably won't, but it's a cool idea I came up with and I couldn't really explain it in words that well.

Basically it's like playing bejeweled and tetris at the same time. Tetris is known throughout the world and everyone has played it endless hours, so remaking tetris brings nothing new, and bejeweled is a simple, mindless game. But if you *combine* the two, it becomes a higher level of fast-paced strategy and multitasking.

As for the border, yeah shapes would probably be better, but I was trying to make a quick animation and didn't feel like coming up with shapes.

One thing could be changed about that, making it more ideal for a portable system such as GBA or DS: shifting the entire border (or bejeweled game) left and right with L and R, while only swapping the nearest blocks to the tetris when a line is cleared, instead of a whole row swapping.

I just picked up a fun idea from a strange discussion on #tcpa:
tetris + mods
Just think of the potential for 3rd party extensions and complete changes in gameplay!

I think a Tetris game for the DS with homebrew mod/extension support would be awesome. See what people could come up with using the stylus or microphone as controls or way of playing tetris, like pitch of noises you make. O.o

Here's a random thought. Instead of sending lines (literally) to your opponent, perhaps you could use the bejeweled combos and chains to send lines instead? It would make multiplayer rather interesting...

I'm not mad, just a little crazy.

DarkNova - a little side project I run.

A basic tetris engine would be nice, so people looking to create new versions wouldn't have to write a new engine every time.
I'm sure tons of cool variations would pop up.
Anybody up to it?

It sounds nice, and I think it would be cool. You could have the plugins/mods have the sprite (it would use error detection and would result to default it the shape is invalid), then drop speed/difficulty. That would be insane!

somebody's going to need to program it, though.
This is a perfect project for anybody who isn't coding anything right now...

Which, as far as I know, is nobody. Everyone ALWAYS has a project of some sort that they've got going on. Always. Some supersecret side project or phantasmagoric dream program that coaxed them to learn to program.
