But dwedit is right, greyscale on the 83 series eats up so much processor space that decent movement (like smooth scrolling) is nearly impossible. Just look at Desolate. It's a great game, great story, great graphics, but it moves slow. And that's just simple movement. Try making a mario game...
I never found desolate to run slowly...

well, not too slow, but you notice how sometimes you have to hold a button down for it to recognize the button and how sometimes it thinks you pressed a button twice when you really only pressed it once.

Well there are few factors which made Desolate not as fast as it could be. The firs is that the GPP takes a fair chunk of CPU time ... and the toher is bad programming ...
