ads? do you mean like opra advertising for itself? that's what the C:files and delete is for :P

I don't even see the ads. Banner blindness works for me absolutely.

Put a sticker on the monitor covering the ad-area, or build some sort of mechanical device which covers the same area of the monitor whenever Opera starts. Just poll the list of processes now and then and send cover/uncover data via a serial port or something. This would require that Opera is always in maximized state.
Should work for you greedy whiny people, if you can build the device with little expenses :)
