At least it was in colour, unlike VB3 ;) VB.NET's where it's at now.

Even VB6 is 6 years old or so by now.
And, umm, you can get VB.NET 2005 Express Edition Beta 2 for free.

Or you could skip VB and learn C++...

Meh, C++ is alright, but for a Windows application (we're not talking about games here) VB.NET will make things a lot easier. Use the right tools for the job, eh?

Heh going from VB4 to .Net is annoying. I did it from 6 to .Net. most companies still are too lazy. VB is good but I still like DARKBasic more!
Long retired from this forum. For all of those who are still coding here back from the days I posted, rock on.

I have no kind words for Darkbasic. Darkbasic is the nastiest piece of crap I have ever seen. Good luck getting any type of performance out of that.
You know your hexadecimal output routine is broken when it displays the character 'G'.

I installed DarkBasic once but i never actually coded anything in it.

I use VB6 myself, but i only use it for small apps that dont require any serious performance.

I use C for testing algo's also.

But like some have said, VB4 is damn old ... its pre-MDI isnt it? I recommend downloading the latest free version.
