New coder on the way ...

Post by novenary »

Hey guys,

I'm new to TI programming. I've been learning about asm over the last while and found out about the Z80 processor and its current use on TI graphing calcs.

Soooo, I just had to buy one :) I ordered a used TI 83+ SE from ebay and can't wait to start playing with it. I'm reading up on Z80 asm and hopefully have something programmed by the time the 83 gets here.

I'd like to program some cool stuff and maybe stuff never before seen!

See ya guys around,

... and if you need any help with sprites (pixel animations) or programming, make sure to post what you're looking for. Welcome aboard, I think you'll find this place rather friendly.

Hello novenary, welcome to the MaxCoderz forums :).

Great to see you are interested in coding for the z80 calcs, its a lot of fun and very rewarding.

A good idea is to grab yourself and emulator like PindurTI (found here: http://kvince83.tengun.net/maxboard/vie ... 12&start=0). It will aid your development greatly.

Also some recommended reading: http://kvince83.tengun.net/maxboard/vie ... 70&start=0

Feel free to ask any questions you may have, see you around! :).

Welcome to MaxCoderz! :)

I look forwards to seeing what you can squeeze out of the Z80 in the TI calculators. The platform can be quite frustrating, but it is at least an active community and easy to deploy your programs to hardware.

So which of you changed my post :D ? I suppose it is better for novenary to realize that I am not the head of anything--I am usually the tail end :) . Sorry for the joke, but when stupid things pop into my head, I sometimes don't realize how dumb they are :) .

welcome!!

it's good to see more ASM programmers :) i'm guessing you've got a lot of programming experience under your belt, but u just happen to come upon ti calcs?

i recommend revsoft.org/wabbitemu.zip for an emulator. idk if that's the latest version of wabbitemu though.

I've been so bold as to write a Beginners Manual on the WikiTi:
http://wikiti.denglend.net/index.php?title=Beginners

I suggest we put some energy into perfecting that page and point new people to it, instead of discussing assemblers and emulators every single time.

Welcome, Batman :)

I'm sure we'll try and do our best if you encounter any bumps on the road to learning Z80 assembly!
