Calculator Programming Convention?

Post by currahee »

:x I'm sorry but someone really needs to get through his head that the TI-Calcs are just a hobby for programming. THIS ISN'T A FREAKIN' INDUSTRY... well... okay it is (For TI at least:P) but seriously a Calculator's Programming Convention? For what exactly?

I hate to do something like this, but Cemetech has always been a little too 'cheesy' for me. Too much of an attempt to sound like a big corporation I guess.

I don't want this too sound like a flame though.

It doesn't, at least to me, because I agree. ;)

I'm sure it's a (intentional) gimmic. Remember Ticalc completes IPO? What about Ticalc announces micro-payments. Hillarious!

A bit too late dont you think? since ticalc.org doesn't possess a lot of assetts that they themsevles own, their IPO would be something like... a penny or a nickel

They meant meeting in person :x

Oh and also, since it's Kerm we're dealing with... it probably means he'd more than likely do it.
so now Mathstuf and I have decided to hold the first CPC online in a much more immediate timeframe. We will be holding a series of online classes on his and my forums addressing z80 programming, 68k programming, and web design. More information will be released as teachers are found, the curricula are drawn up, and plans are finalized
Sure wasn't mentioned on TIcalc.org

Whom do you think is worse? Hays or CemeTech?

Ballpark? Going by the number VTI downloads, I'd say around half a million. Of course that's mostly ASM programmers. Probably better to go by the number of ticalc authors; which is....

(waiting for someone to rush in with the figures)

Don't rely on download statistics. Most of them are people who are downloading another copy.

That's true, but it gives us an upper limit. Actually, 600,000 was kind of a suprise because I expected it to have more (repeat) downloads over the years. Anyhow, I'm trying to search for all of ticalcs submitters. 'Says my strings are too short. Maybe that should be on the adjenda for the calc convention. 8)

Knowing Cemetech I'd be surprised if that were the case. This is the same "company" the wrote a (very serious) press release for the release for DoorsCS 5.

Actually, a better way would be asking MV if he could get a count of all signed up users on ticalc.org.
