It's sad that they didn't even upgrade the system but made it worse :?

I had an idea: require a calc ID for voting. It's needs to be a valid calc ID, and it can only be used once.
If you dont have a calc, THEN WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING THERE ANYWAY?

It prevents cheating, and they have something similar for the TI webshop.

Would someone be so kind as to write a script to raise the votes for all calculators to 10000?
just try to be nice to people.

That would at least show TI that people are cheating.

Though they'll probably think their site suddenly has become really popular.

Let's make a list of the people that (most probably) cheated:
-Florida (lloydkirk) 500+ votes (someone else cheated for you?)
-Nebraska 4000+ votes
-Oregon 500+ votes
-New York 5600+ votes
-Vermont (peter W) 3000+ votes
-Washington 5100+ votes

New York is the biggest cheater, followed by Washington.

I would like to say at least ONE THING: I DID NOT CHEAT IN ANY WAY.

Current Number of votes for me: 3012

Admittedly, this should make TI work harder to make a more secure way to vote, but it's just a bitttt..... INSANE. :x

I just hope that this doesn't make me lose that free TI-84+SE. Although I would like to win overall, DarkAuron REALLY deserves to win more than I do! ;)

I'm calling TI on monday at around 6:30 PM ET. Anyone else wanting to do so, GO RIGHT AHEAD! :)

Insanity Meter: 10/10

:x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x

What about all us nerdy peoples that have more than one calc? ;)

EDIT: Did you know phase one isn't even over yet? You can still vote for the state designs and look- some of the designs there today weren't there yesterday! Some people cheated for their designs phase one and bumped out the original semi-finalists!

I received the following email from TI today:
Congratulations on creating the Winning GraphiTI Design for your State! You have won your very own TI-84 Plus Silver Edition Calculator!

Your entry is now in the second round of voting. Your GraphiTI Design will be competing against the other winning designs for the Grand Prize. The National Competition ends October 15th, so now is the time to get your family, friends and teachers to vote for your design!

You could win a $1,000 shopping spree for yourself and a TI-NavigatorTM classroom learning system and 30 TI-84 Plus Silver Editions for your school.

Check out your competition at www.84silver.com/contest_browse_finals.php

Good Luck,

Your TI-84 Plus Silver Edition Team

SPECIAL NOTICE: All voting records will be reviewed to ensure that no users voted more than the one time allotted during the voting period which will end October 15th.
I hope this means that the design that deserves to win WILL win. I am about to call TI right now (I'm not waiting for 6 PM as I thought I would...) and see if they can explain a few things. I'll post if I have something to say from them.

Comments: Hello, my name is Steven Rogers
I have noticed something about the 84silver.com graphiti competition. Apparently, it is possible for a design to go up 700+ votes in a very short while. It is extremely obvious that people are cheating. Please fix the security system. I am sure the problem will be amended quickly. Thanks.
:D Complete with a commercial!

I originaly planned on contacting TI-Cares today, but I can't because my votes keep on going way up. My credibility is ruined. I think I know who's doing it. People like CalcKing are probably facing a similar situation. By the way, the latest registered user, importb is actually Jiang Yio, the New York cheater. For fun I sent him an e-mail using a fake indentity as follows:
Hello Jiang Yio,

My name is Christiana Amaci. Sorry if my english is bad, I am from Italy. I found out about the design competition yesterday, so it was too late to make my own design. Being italian, im not sure I could have done the contest anyway. I thought that I help some other person win. I liked your design the best, so I searched your name and got this email address. I would like to help you win. Please let me know if there is anything I can do. A friend told me that a script can be made to vote quicker, but I dont know, whatever I can do to help.
And I got this reply:
Dear Christiana Amaci,

Thank you for supporting my cause! Much as I wish to win, I do not
wish to win through dishonorable methods. But it would greatly help if
you vote for me and ask your friends to vote for me. Again, thanks!

~jyio
LOL, 1 day and 5,000 votes later he has the ball to boast about his "honorable methods". I would certainly like to know what they are.

I called TI and made it quite clear who I was. I can only hope that their 'records' show that I have not cheated, and that the excessively large number of votes on my design came from some other source. I'm still waiting for them to respond to my phone call yesterday, and if they do not respond by about 3 PM ET today, I'll probably call them again.
