The 8.8k size limitation is a hardware limitation in the calculator; it is impossible to get around, thus no shell would not have the limitation.

For syntax highlighting for the editor, you might want to look into the excellent Scintilla . I tried 28 Days...but i couldn't get that method to work...and i got ZiLog, but that was too confusing... Well, then you might as well give up and go home... Err, seriously. Although you should have no problem if you follow the instructions, you sure aren't going to get any help by just complaining...
