Re: xLIB 84C Edition

Actually there have been color screen calcs since 1996, with the Casio CFX-9850G series, but back then, there were only 3 pixel colors at once (changeable via contrast settings) and to run ASM you had to flash the ROM chip with special hardware. They were discontinued in 2003. In 2010 Casio released...

Re: progress...

Well in both cases, there are 2 types of lava in the game. One kind is usually static and not as hot, so with a suit you can get in fine. The other kind is more like acid, so you lose HP even with any suit on. Also the acid tends to move more often, but in Super Metroid lava can move up too.

Re: progress...

Would be cool if this map (or a similar version of it) was brought in Metroid ASM 83+ :D

Re: progress...

Actually one good example of Metroid would be this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXVA_RDzxss It shows how fast jumping is, along with movement speed (note that he's dashing in this video. Walking speed is about the speed of your program). And of course the scrolling transition between doors need t...

Re: Next version of xLIB - features?

Interesting. Sadly, Celtic III (then later Doors CS 7) took over xLIB and almost completely obsoleted it, then MP OSes arrived, so to be successful, a new xLIB APP would need to focus on totally new features like what you mentionned, along with maybe some Mode 7 or raycasting features for dungeon cr...

Re: progress...

Yay! Glad this was revived. I remember you said you were still working it from 2006 to 2009 or so, but back then me and a few others thought that announcment was a hoax, so we eventually thought the project was officially dead, but I'm glad it's finally taking off again for real. There are some Metr...

Re: Next version of xLIB - features?

Hmm two things: There appears to be issues with the getkey thing in xLIB, because in XXR, it doesn't let me change the options anymore and in Super Mario Smash Dance, it immediately skips the title screen without even letting me select what I want. Also I'm unsure if it's due to 2.53+ MP but ClrHome...

Can't post in Metroid D:

Hi,

tr1p1ea unlocked the Metroid sub-forum after nearly 7 years, but I still can't post there. There's no New Topic and Reply button D:

Seems like you re-enabled it only for staff lol.

Re: April Fools! (Was: Copyright Violation Letter)

Sorry for the extreme necropost, but does anybody here remember this? http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?topic=-1904.30 Half a year after this April Fools prank, someone on Omnimaga received a REAL cease and desist notice from another game company (Camelot) because he was using Golden Sun names in hi...

Re: So... what happened?

Sadly life is taking priority over calc programming which is a real downer sometimes, but i do check the forums nearly every day :). This is my issue, too; work has left me with very little time to work on my own projects this year but I do try to keep relatively active in the community. Something ...

Re: So... what happened?

OH RIGHT! Alienhead Productions! That was where Hitoshi actually started. I didn't get to see the site much because of the Calc.org crash in 2002 and the merge with MaxCoderz. As for Hitoshi the most recent thing I remember is one post from him on my Youtube FFTOM video and I think he did post on Om...

Re: So... what happened?

The TI community is still pretty alive, lots of new stuff being worked on or released and BrandonW hacking everything he touches (using a 84+ to jailbreak a Playstation 3 for example). I would even say that from Fall 2010 to Summer 2011, the TI community was more active than in 2003-05, both in term...

Re: This site is almost dead

Actually the dutch board is at http://www.ti-wereld.nl/phpBB3/index.php but from what I have heard before, almost nobody code there, they mostly come to ask for calc help. Omnimaga used to have a dutch section too, back when it had about 10 dutch users, but nobody used it, so only the French section...

Re: This site is almost dead

Lol ok. Just keep in mind there are catgirls there, though, although normally you should be safe. And they're moving servers and seems to have messed cookies up <.<

Also I wonder if the dutch TI board is still active?
