Looks interesting... I'm assuming it has vertical scrolling, and if so, I'm guessing that the original SMB3 levels could be exactly remade. Well, also assuming pipes work, and moving platforms, and automatic screen scrolling... Still, looks nifty.

Question: Does it require lots of painful math to create something, or do you have another sort of setup to create models and such?

I'll admit, FF:TOM was rather... Cumbersome. I never really got far into it, due to the amount of stuff that needed to be transferred back and forth, and the fact that I could often not get it to work. Can't remember if I had those problems with FF:TOM2, but yeah. Definitely hard to do games. But st...

So far:

Tile maps: Work fine
Sprites: Works fine
Run indicator: Don't know. I have it set to turn off in the room choosing program, but it seems to still be on when control is given to the walking program. Does it only apply to the currently running program?

Hoohah, just got the test version of xLIB, so now I set out to see if A) It's got any noticable bugs, and B) How much it speeds up SO. Screenshots should follow shortly! Edit: First test results in! And the results are....... Rooms are INSTANTLY RENDERED. Like, holy crap on a stick. xLIB rocks my so...

[SHATTERED OASIS] The Media Thread!

This thread'll be used strictly for the purpose of me posting screenshots and stuff from SO. New ones will appear at the top. The main walking and room building engines, now xLIB powered (11/30/2005): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v190/BetaSword/ptiani1.gif ----------------- Old shots: http://im...

The only problem with using very large matrices is the amount of space they take up... I think I've tried it before, and it was just plain HUGE. I mean, if the 83+SE had more RAM, then it would possibly work... Although I guess I could always just make each matrix hold maybe 4 or so rooms, and have ...

I believe the DelVar thing works on pictures. Though I don't know if it works with pictures about 10... That's the only problem. Edit: Ooh, feature suggestion: Masked sprite. Basically, same setup as normal sprite, but with usage something like: real(14,Spr_X,Spr_Y,Spr_Width,SprHeight,sPIC_Num,sPIC_...

[SHATTERED OASIS] Feature Suggestions

In case people didn't notice, SO is back on. Now, while I await xLIB's glory, I have time to think of various things I would like to do with SO, and their likelyhood of happening. Feel free to add in suggestions, too. It can't hurt at all. Definite: -Rewriting the room building code. This'll be nece...

Hrmm... After looking through the feature list again, I've come to realize that I'll be able to do pretty much everything in SO a lot more easily with it. The text box, sprite movement, room building... Bah, now I want it more!

Wow, I really like those Megaman sprites, and am now tempted to attempt a sort of side scrolling Megaman RPG with them. Altered, or course, to make them monochrome. But that may or may not happen.

<Offtopic> You should change the subtitle of the forum to "The RPG that definitely hasn't died even though it looks like it" I can't. Only admins can. And I'm not an admin. Otherwise, I probably would. i mean that u just have one matrix, ur tile matrix. Since xlib ignores decimals in matr...

Well, I'd ask that you change them some, first off, and second, just add somewhere into the readme or credits or whatever that the face sprites were based off sprites by BetaSword/Jim Dieckmann.
