It is said that Dutch is one of the most difficult languages in the world to learn as a second language (along with proper Japanese I believe). Of couse that's only valid for humans, I don't know about computers ;) Well, most people believe their own language to be the most difficult. But it ...

I don't have to touch doc-files, ever. The only decent way to write reports is with tex-files anyway and my university has understood that. You’re lucky. :) When you have to work together with people from outside academia, especially on non-technical matters, MSO formats are inevitable. Even if it’...

I’m not sure where to find the datasheet for the flash chip now, but I think it’s even easier to look at some source code: http://svn.revsoft.org/wabbitemu/source/hardware/83phw.c Check out the flashwrite83p function. Note that you need to unprotect the flash before you can send write commands to it...

It's all about ease of installation and use, and integration with the host platform. You can't double click on a Word document in Linux and have it run MS Office in your (hidden) virtual machine. Sure, you need to click it inside the VM. Sure, it is a couple more clicks away, but seeing what kind o...

Re: MS admits Vista is bloatware
What exactly is a "normal" OS? The only OS I dare run on that low-end hardware is Windows 2000. My old XP machine had 40GB disk space and 512MB RAM, and ran (in general) very badly. You need much more than that for anything approaching decent performance. :\ No, that’s perfectly enough fo...

And it being difficult to change the IT culture in a corporate environment is exactely my point why it's a good move from Apple to make MS Office run on Macs. But is it really news? After all, MSO has been available under Linux too for ages thanks to Wine, not to mention virtualisation environments...

Of course, it's mainly the achievement of the Parallels VM software that's just 100 times better than VMware or Microsoft's crap, but it also has a lot to do with integration with the windowing system. Note that MS VirtualPC was not developed by MS, they just bought it. So, somehow, there's a diffe...

Do you have any hints/tips for how much of the hardware needs to be emulated before it even vaguely works, or how you built the emulator? :) Well, the 83+ can obviously boot without any kind of flash functionality implemented. ;) It can also live without the link assist (which isn’t used by the BE ...

Hmm, I have a different solution, but I’m notoriously bad at basic maths, so take it with a pinch of salt. :P v_w - velocity of water v_m - the relative velocity of man to the water (I’m assuming it is the same in both directions) p_b - position of bottle (the origin is the bridge, and the water flo...

You can run it in Dosbox if you want. It’s extremely slow though for some reason.Timendus wrote:What does it do?benryves wrote:256B should be enough for anyone.

I’d say going through the whole line of Farbrausch creations in general is highly recommended.Dwedit wrote:Congratulations, you found Krieger! Next watch this 64k intro called "The Product", I'm sure you will be blown away.
