He only has one stream available on his end, which is the microphone port on the back of the computer. I am able to use this port fine because I have an adapter that will let me plug just about anything into it. (I can then run a line from my line out directly to my line in to send music from my app...

Record Wave Output

I have a friend accross the new with whom I voice chat a lot. Instead of me talking, I set my computer to record the wave output, hook up my MIDI keyboard, and play my piano accross the line. The problrm? He can't do the same in return. Is there a program that will take the output of the computer (n...

All implementations continue to fail when they get to installing assemblies. This is apparently a system specific issue that cannot be resolved... Darn.

I will try all of that. Thanks. I didn't know the 3.0 runtimes were for XP by the way, I thought they were for Vista. It will take a mmoment to download though, so I'll get back with results. The 1.1 framework seems to work fine, but it doesn't handle my program minimization properly (the window is ...

.NET framework 2.0 Refuses to Install

Every time I run this package, it says something about the file "System.EnterpriseSystems.dll" not being found. I look in the directory it's pointing to, and the file is sitting right there. This happens on multiple distributions of the framework, including the one that comes with VB.NET 2...

You recorded your own media and didn't have it require a license. Then you tried to play that media but Windows Vista wouldn't. Correct? Windows Media Player 9 running on WinXP. Apparently the licencing thing has been out for a while. I had it recorded as an MP3 file, which probably didn't help, bu...

Well as with most new hardware/software that will inevitably get shoved down our throats (why couldn't they just make linux more user friendly?) I guess the only real choice is to install it, and keep XP there for backup when it fails. I doubt that a lot of new software (commercial of freeware) will...

Cool. And I already found out that a notify icon (or some name to that effet) appears in the taskbar, like I wanted it to. I assume you create your own loop and simply never show the actual form of the program to use it from the form dgner in this fashion. (Although I'm prefectly happy having a form...

I've gotten TightVNC to work so well that I want to use it for the setup I had in mind. My teacher is a little less-than-literate in these types of terms, so I need to write him a tool that will let him select any computer in the room (Based on the computer's name, for example) and connect to it eas...

So what, Windows refuses to let you use a PC (which has been slowly turning into a high-quality media device) play any media at all and have it look decent? What's the deal here? I don't like this at all... I don't think I want to buy Vista now until a crack for this procedure is found. (which bette...

My guess is that I was trying to specify a port when I did not need to (or was specifying one that was tied up.) Anywho, I got TightVNC to work finr. In fact, that's what I'm typing this from. The framerate really sucks, but I'm working on improving that. If I could get toe other to work (I will try...

OK, UltraVNC appears to be doing something at least. How on earth am I supposed to use this thing? It's all confusing... I'm not even sure which programs I'm supposed to have running.

Remote Desktop w/out Windows

I like the idea or Remote Desktop, I really do. Unfortunately, I need to run this kind of a program on a school network, and apparently our network gets in the way of the windows way of doing things. It seems like this shouldn't be a new concept. Are there other non-windows created (but still design...

For the record, to understand where I am coming from, I am a member of the Church of Christ. Not only do we worship god, but we believe the bible to be the inspired work of god, and thus follow the new testament very closely. To clear things up and to say my bit, let me just clarify what was going o...

And how on earth would you inteface with the thing from the OS? Wouldn't you need a custom OS for this magnitude of a mod, or would the device support normal OS functionality with somewhat of a way to "switch modes"? I do have to say this looks quite impressive though... -gamefreak PS: Can...
