This probably explains a lot of the differences. The rest would probably be other market conditions and government policy. I paid $40/month for cable internet in a small city in IL (Champaign), but don't remember the speed, since I was only there for a few months. I think my parents are paying $35 ...

Blarg, I think I got my only C in Numerical Methods aka rote memorization (scored 146/200 on final...). At least I still pass, since I'm not a grad student. It's so nice being done with exams forever. Hmm. Actually I just did the calculations, and it looks like I have a B- or even a B if they round ...

In college most professors don't care if you come or not. The ones that do have participation grades or random quizzes. Otherwise they just figure that it will catch up to you on the exams. It's quite different from high school, where you get punished for being late or missing a day without a valid ...

Yeah seriously... the only thing that much snow does is make traffic slow until the roads get plowed and salted. It snowed about that much in central IL. Snow is so worthless here without any hills.

Libraries already have publicly accessible computers with internet access and often have free classes run by volunteers.

I'm not saying you shouldn't try to help people out, I'm just saying I don't think most homeless people care to learn. If they did, they would use the resources already available.

We need somewheres (relatively) close to mansfield...max 2 hours drive...and we need a date for the meeting I said Cleveland for last week, but nobody listens to me. I'm moving in January though, so I won't be able to make any Ohio meetings when the weather is favorable for something other than sle...

Given the fact no one has recommended a location other than their hometowns yet , I'd say it's obvious no one is going to travel. Here's an idea: state and city conventions? I recommended Cedar Point a while back, but obviously it's not a good November location. Other good choices would be DC...
