Re: [News] BBC BASIC Beta Testing - 2009/02/06 r688
I have a couple suggestions: 1) Would it be possible to have one of the several exit commands check to see if you have modified your program before you quit (to avoid accidental data loss). AKA, it would be like windows. This can be easily achieved by having a bit that is set anytime you edit the ...

Re: [News] BBC BASIC Beta Testing - 2009/01/23 r599
Basically, what I am wanting is a routine that will search backwards in the file for the beginning of the previous line and give it, so you can read in both directions. I know that this could be done fairly easily using ptr#, but it would be much nicer to have a routine like that already built in ...

Re: [News] BBC BASIC Beta Testing - 2009/01/23 r599
I cannot replicate this, so I'll just assume that I accidentally wrote the clock program onto the end of my own program (it is very possible; I wasn't entirely sure of what I was doing at the time). Also, is there a way to control how you are reading from a file? For example, are there equivalent ...

Re: [News] BBC BASIC Beta Testing - 2009/01/23 r599
Good idea. :) The CPU does drop down to 6MHz and HALTs when waiting for a key but a proper APD would be nice. Maybe something like: *SLEEP - go immediately into "sleep" mode (LCD off, low power consumption). *SLEEP 500 - set the APD delay to 500cs (5 seconds). *SLEEP OFF - disable the APD ...

Re: Monopoly
I was actually attempting to make a monopoly game with AI of my own, but I kind of stopped as well. I would be willing to try to help you code this (I am experienced with ASM).

Re: [News] BBC BASIC Beta Testing - 2008/01/17
I ran the sierpins program and it did not work properly using the run command (I forgot to try with ch). However, after a RAM clear, it worked with ch."sierpins" (it still did not work with run).

Re: [News] BBC BASIC Beta Testing - 2008/01/17
I'm downloading the new version now; the d and e keys worked fine on my 84+SE the entire time (I don't think anything was ever wrong with them)...

Re: [News] BBC BASIC Beta Testing - 2008/01/15
The bug does seem to be a timing issue (reloading, the commands didn't help). However, on my calculator, MINES, CLOCK, and CUBE all run correctly (as far as I can tell). Finally, I'm not quite sure how to edit programs like on the regular OS (I can do it line by line)... I tried using the *EXEC with ...

Re: Beta Testing - 2008/01/12
Thanks; I was having a similar problem with the documentation (which is quite nice, btw)! However, I am having another issue, this time with the Sierpins program (the demo you included). When I run the program, it looks nothing like the picture in your screenshot of the program. It appears as though ...

Re: Beta Testing - 2008/01/12
I seem to be having an issue with the display when I use the insert mode of editing. To begin with, the last character is left as a solid black rectangle and I can move my cursor where ever I want to on the screen. I would recommend limiting where you can move the cursor; it was very confusing at ...

Re: Beta Testing - 2008/01/12
Yay, I have already downloaded the file to my calculator; I'll check it out some tonight and during school tomorrow (and post about it when I get a chance).

Re: [Staff][Dev] BBC BASIC
I personally think that the extra features should be worth it, so go ahead and make it a 3-page app.
However, if size is a big concern, why don't you release two separate versions (one with a few features missing so i can be kept to 2 pages and one with everything you want)?

Re: [Staff][Dev] BBC BASIC
w00t; I am glad that I have found MaxCoderz again (I had thought that the site had simply disappeared until I posted about it on Cemetech).
Now, more importantly, when will we be getting a beta / demo?
