Sounds very much like you have more than one calculator type defined at once. (This can happen if you include a lot of external libraries.) It could also be something to the effect of the libraries using the same name for something. (or your own code for that matter.) In any case, you will need to p...

I'm pretty clueless here too. Not Pr0n at least gives you a push in the right direction. (I got to level 4 there in about 2 minutes.) I googled the text on the bg image on the first page of yours and got offered to buy games, which didn't help at all. I've tried everything I could think of. I looked...

No, I'm writing this program to teach myself about compression, so I definately want to write the routines myself. They work well apparently (well, all except RLE, which was expected) but unsurprisingly I can't get any files smaller than winzip. That is my ultimate goal. Don't know if I will ever ge...

I knew you'd come through ben! Thanks a bunch. I'll change my code over as soon as I get home. (I should be able to figure out the stuff now that I can pull out the info in the library.) I'll post my optimized code as soon as I have it written (should be a fairly straightforward task) and let y'all ...

I was working on a greyscale version for a while, but it never really took off. When I get into asm again, I'll be sure to do some work on it.

Search ticalc.org in the asm section, there are tons of little tools that will do it for you. (MirageOS will do it too, in the file options.) If you want to do it in assembly, basically you set the first character of the program name to a space to hide it. (It won't show up anywhere when this happen...

It happens sometimes when taskmanager is open, and every program has a relatively decent CPU useage. (System Idle Time remains in the 90s I mean, and taskmanager is up there in the list of high CPU users, meaning that it's not any one process.) Also, the performance meter that shows up has no indica...

Will do. Of course at this rate, it will take a couple of days to have all the scanners and thing I need to get it properly clean, but I guess the old scandisk/defrag combo of the 98 days couldn't hurt. Is there sort of a process that starts processes? (Like when you click on the program name or typ...

I dont know, I have issues getting taskmanager to open just like everything else. Once the problem subsides once, it doesn't happen again for a while, so its hard to have taskmanager open at the right time. Thing is, I can't pinpoint what's causing it in the first place.

Odd virus lookin' issue

I've noticed this issue with my current HP desktop computer recently. Whenever I go to start a process (double click a file, open a program, press Ctrl+Alt+Delete) it takes the computer anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes to actually start the process. The program usually runs fine (unless it is b...

Our Christmas was real traditional. My sister carved the Christmas gumbo. Football fights in the backyard ( no snowballs in TX ). And all the little ones gathered for a reading of Chilton's Auto Repair Manual. All in all a good Christmas. Now thats not entirely true. In fact, I got written up at wo...

[VB.NET]File Handling Optimization

First of all, this is my first post from my own internet connection, and not the schools internet. Hooray for dial up! Its not great, but it gets me the unfiltered access I need to better pursue my programming. (Half of the good programming tutorials are blocked there under "games". Yay fo...

I only have one issue with this type of game. Where is the "music" going to come from? Ohh!!! Now I've gone off and had an idea... would it be possible to time a calc game to a CD track? Press play on the CD track and the first couple of seconds are a bit of linkport noise that essentially...
