My dell inspiron 7000 backlight has died.
It had been flickering up untill this point. You can still see whats on the screen but it's super dark and you cant read text on it.
Right now I am looking for a replacement for it. But finding a backlight for my 4-6 year old laptop is very hard.
I was wondering if anybody knows a good website I can go to get a new backlight. Also are backlights expensive because if there like $200 then I just save up for a new laptop.

Well if it's that old there's not much sense in repairing it, you'd be better off just saving up for a new one and sticking that in a corner as a server or something.

What Andy said....
Sorry man... my laptop's hdd got formatted a while back, and I thought I couldn't fix it... When I realized a way to fix it... my brother had already smashed the LCD screen...
Look around on eBay... If that won't help, try seeing if any wires are frayed (or broken) from the lcd flip-screen to the computer....
If so... solder em together
If that won't work, I think you may have to replace your entire screen...

The screen on here is better than the some of the newer screens!!
It eats battery though.
To replace the screen would cost over $300.

holy... holy... buy a newer used laptop... that's what I would do in your situation... If you have the money, of course... or go completely desktop

57gb?!?!?!? how can you live in such a cramped space.
I routinely fill my 80gb harddive that it makes me burn many things off.
I hate laptops.

What could you possibly fill these drives up with? I had all my music, all my brothers music, pluss a crap load of pics, and I didn't even fill a 30 gig...
