Sorry, I couldn't find the old "Addicted to MC" thread, so here's a new one. And, to celebrate all of you who think you are addicted, take a look at this story. Seriously, I'm turning off my computer now and going OUTSIDE!

O_O, That is unbelievable ... how on earth could you disregard yourself like that? Sure when im at my PC i dont get as hungry or as mcuh sleep as i should ... but i still eat and eventually drag myself to bed.

That guy's poor family .. that must be something hard to deal with.

Honestly i was looking for the april fools at the end or something.

That said, i am addicted to this forum ... BUT i a do get out often enough. I play basketball and kick the soccerball outside sometimes :).

Ok, and i thought I had some issues with the computer, but apparently not...That does suck though. I feel bad for the guy's family. *moment of silence*

Sad thing.
Still, it seems his family didn't do much to prevent what happened. Seriously, who wouldn't unplug the computer or force the weirdo off from his seat?

Guys that was a satire. It says it at the bottom, but even then I doubt you could continue to function at a computer during stravation.

But I'm sure people have died at a computer some how tied to excessive use.

*worries*
*knocks on wood*

Actually, your right. There have been cases where people who played MMORPG's....(massive multiplayer online) such as Everquest, have died from starvation. They just lock thereselves in thier rooms and never come out..*sighs*

when i read that article,... i took a look at myself. before my computer fkxored up and i had t oreformat i'd be on forums for about two hours, and then spend another eight hours playing MMORPGs... >.< it was basically this for my daily routine

Go to school, and do school and programming on calc
go home, get on net
Go to bed
wake up, repeat

Eating is an occassional thing. I eat lunch at the cafeteria, and dinner occasionally... i've decided now that its best not to live like this anymore. Thanks for posthing this thread, it has actually changed my life.

Sometime after I read kv83's post, I passed by the counseling center on campus and happened to spot a pamphlet on computer additiction. Appearantly, it extremely common. Here are some of the symptoms they listed:

* Losing track of time while on the computer
* Breaking promises to decrease comp use
* Lying about amount of time spent on comp
* Feeling anxious, depressed, or irritable when comp time is interrupted
* Neglecting friends, family, or responsibilities in order to stay online
* Using comp as an outlet when sad or upset
* Financial problems due to billing or online gambling
* Sleep disturbance or backache

It was kind of interesting, because I fit all but 2 of those descriptions. It also seems that I suffer from primary insomnia. :insane:

...But this was downright looney! That's the way some people are though. With his obsessive behavior something like that would have done him in sooner or later. If not forums, it would have been gambling or alcohol. Either way, he's caught in the web. (Please ignore that pun)
