I honestly don't see any blood (this may be due to my color-blindness however).

@kalan: thats because I just used a test tool to draw some on via the mouse (left button to draw, right to change shape and to erase mode). I plan to make it so hopefully blood will squirt and drip realisticaly...something I always have wanted for a side scroller
