The biggest problem I'd see with a DDR game on calc is the amount of time it takes for pixels to turn on on a real LCD screen. By the time the pixel is dark enough, you will have missed the beat.
You know your hexadecimal output routine is broken when it displays the character 'G'.
make a delay, i think thats how it was with ps1 ddr games because the pads were laggy. plus, for the music, i am not telling you to do this, but you could make it like nes music, with really small encoding. remeber that post a long time a go with the guy who made a boom box program for the 82. something like that but simpler.
Since Tankies is nearly done I'm focusing my attention upon it until I finish it. Until then DDR is on hold, unfortunately. I find it too stressing to work on two projects at the same time while dealing with school (luckily I have spring break this week though).

i here ya man! life is stressing, plus two projects ahhh. its a pain. finish one thing first then move on to the next project thats my advice.
Haha My Trig teacher has one of those, heck even one for the TI-92, but I'm not sure he'd be too keen on us playing a game on his big screen as he clears out our ram whenever anyone mentions a game in his presence
