Wow, thanks for the reviews of my cheap drawings. I've already taken heart on this project (looks like it will probably be playable looong before pokemon shows screens) and as a plus alreadt have my first sprites ever up in the greyscale package I'm using, which looks like it is going to work really well. I'll try to have the basic board-creation and probably cursor movement/switching soon. The code for the move detection will be a mild nightmare though, converting to asm, but I should be able to handle it no prob.
I'll go ahead and attempt a black bg version, but I'm really liking the white for some reason. Course, I could make the animetions cooler in black... OK, black it probbly is. (Yes, I just argued with myself. And myself won. Creepy...)

Wow. I guess I've never played it before, but after that screenshot, I'm gonna have to start looking for it. Awesome pixeling, thegamefreak0134.

I don't need help. I've done the logic twice already (once for calc BASIC and once for a GBA version I did a while back (C++)) so porting it to asm will not be so hard, I think. I just have to get comfortable with all of the little tricks in asm, as I'm really still very new at the low level logic. I understand what needs to be done, but don't have the luxary (without a little too much work) to see what's going on underneath, so debugging is a bit difficult. I shouldn't have too much problems though.
For the record, the greyscale engine works great. I already have the title shown up and running! (Unfortunately, not with animation yet. sob...) I will try to get something to show soon!

Sorry for the double post, but this is a completely different coment. I went off and designed some preliminary Black version jewels, and I think I like them better now that it's done. I've put them into the same comcept shot, (same jewel board and everything, I think) and changed the color scheme on the side a bit. Take a look and give feedback. I rather like how they came out with kindof a 3d look.

PS: I'm pretty sure I need to keep cheese, just because he/she/it's only fitting for a program by me.
