A vast majority of people who play calc games have 83+ or better calcs. You shouldn't cripple your game for the few who do. Really, if they want to play it so bad, they could get a better calc. It doesn't cost that much to get a used 83+.

Well, the number sure isn't growing. Most of the people at my school who are now buying calcs are even going for the 84's. 83's are a dying breed.

I think that can be said about the 82s, the 83s are going down but a lot of people still have them.

The freshmen this year for some reason went for either 83+BEs or 89Tis. My class was either 83+whacky color edition or 84+SE

@currahee: you can get 83+'s in blue.

You know, it kind of irritates me when I see people with 84+SE's who only use their calculator for math. Such a waste.

Aaaand purple! Don't forget purple!

And I know how you feel. I wonder why they'd settle for that. MAybe they think that having nearly 10x as much memory and 2.5x faster proc. speed, it'll make them smarter or speed up calculations significantly.

Well improved CPU is an advantage for math on the 89, since there are some calculations it can do that require several seconds. But on the 83+, there's no use for more power in regular school use.

True. Actually, "regular school use" in my school includes gaming. It's pretty common. However, 83+'s do that just fine, only 83's would have a problem.

So far, the poll shows that not even one person here has an 83(<> +). So, xlib?

I'd definitely recommend it.

Of course xlib.

And you guys forgot green! It was green, blue, and purple. By the way, do you guys know if they counted as 83+BEs or 83+SEs?

Why? I've never had any trouble... :)
83 = 83+ minus archive, it's not like it is a totally different calculator...

It doesn't anymore ;)
