I worry about people who listen to/enjoy songs with such content. Lyrics with no purpose but to be 'gory'.

Teenagers that listen to such music are often susceptible to things like self isolation and depression.

well, that's definately not me. i am not isolated and i am full of happiness within me. i am not "gothic" or "emo". and i have lots of good friends.
it's just that the lyrics are by the most contraverial band of all times:Cannibal Corpse. They have been banned in Germany from playing any song from their first three albums (especially the one that i posted). banned in New Zeland, Australia, and Korea.

The problem is that they are only famous because they are controversial. You can tell that their songs are designed to create an uproar from censors etc. Any attention seems to be good attention for them.

It's true. There are a number of other bands like that, some that actually attempt to make music, if disturbing music, others who are really just jokes. I include such as Anal Cunt, Dying Fetus, and of course the most popular of them all, Marilyn Manson. Personally I prefer lyrics and music with beauty and substance, such as... BLIND GUARDIAN!

Just like eminem, only doing good because of the contraversy he stirs up. I mainly listen to alternative rock, crossfade, breaking benjamin, matallica, alter bridge.

Really good music in my mind...

my point was that they became popular because people actually liked them. if you ever heard any of their songs, it's impossible to tell what the hell the singer is singing (growling). as i mentioned before they had NO RADIO AIRPLAY AND NO EXPOSURE FROM MTV

The matallica I listen to is the earlier music, I do like very few songs they play now. The problem now is in my weight class that is all they listen to, so I've grown very tired of it...*damn meatheads*

The only reason they are famous is because of all the teenagers out there who think that by listening to 'banned' music they are being bad and breaking the rules. Not an uncommon thing ... there are always people who do the wrong thing simply because its wrong. You will know at least 20 of these kids just from going to school, at least 1 or 2 in every class.

Even if they were singing about a morally acceptable subject i think they would still suck. Their music is a joke.

That's true but just by looking at the words you can some times tell what a song is gona sound like and sorry but I dont like to hear that nasty stuff no mater what the music sounds like.

Actually, Rammstein IS metal. Industrial, to be precise. Not GOOD metal imho, but metal nonetheless. Here's another quote, this time from Pain of Salvation (greatest prog metal band ever imho):
