Yes buy 83, the lack of ram and archive will make you appciate your 84+(se) so much more.
actually the 83 has more ram afaik ... the 83 is also superiro in his way to handle ASM ( send9( )
The 83 had what 25...27 kb of ram. hmmm.... let me check my SE, oh look 192kb of ram free for my coding pleasure. whats that, ram resets can be undone... I can also have a secondary virtual calculator. wow, the SE certainly is impressive. Then again even if you don't believe that the SE has more ram, the archive makes up for that.
Sorry for attacking the 83, I'm working on something new for the SEs and i'm excited.
I feel bad now for knocking the 83.

what do i do now?
If you're using TI-Connect, uninstall it, format your hard drive, exorcise your computer and do a fresh install of Windows. Then proceed to use an unbroken file transfer program, such as TiLP or FastLink.
TI-Connect is a bit picky about the files it wants to send. Sorry
well, I did want to do a fresh re-install of Windows anyways. Sure I will probably do it today

I didn't know... hmm... if you say the 84 has that much, I should trust you

Why don't you just install an unbroken OS like Linux or *BSD?

The difference being that Windows by and large copes fine 99% of the time. TI-Connect throws a wobbly if there's something only slightly wrong.
