120 Mhz
1.2 GH HD
NO USB
can't play wave sound

beat that!
(though the 3D card was allright, and it had a built in Sega Genesis)
I have an 80286 in my basement. 640KB of RAM, EGA graphics, 32MB hard drive, DOS 3.31 and Windows 2.03. Doesn't have a sound card nor any networking device at all.

/edit: Oh and my laptop specs:

AMD Athlon64 3000+ (Clock at 800MHz, 1.6GHz or 1.8GHz depending on load and power situation)
Microsoft Windows XP x86 Professional SP2
Microsoft Windows XP x64 Professional timebomb demo, whatever build they had out a couple weeks ago
512MB RAM
nVidia GeForce4 440 Go 64MB with VGA and S-Video out
60GB internal hard drive, 120GB USB 2.0 hard drive
Floppy drive (mom made me get one >.<)
DVD+RW
Broadcom 54g wireless
15.4" WXGA LCD (1280x800)
2 USB 2.0 and 1 USB 1.1 port
1 Cardbus slot
5-in-1 memory card reader (SD, MS [Pro], MMC, and SM)
1 IEEE1394 mini port
10/100Mbps network port
1 Parallel port
Soft56k modem
Expansion bay port
JBP Pro speakers
12 cell Lion battery (I get upwards of 3 hours with wireless on and screen fairly bright)

Runs like a charm (most of the time... any problems can easily be blamed on the software... I'd run Linux but there's just not enough device drivers for this system). I don't know why people say HP/Compaq computers suck so badly. Only ever had one hardware problem with it and I easily fixed it. (The volume down button became dislodged, just had to open it up and snap it back in place.)

Geez, that thing is a beast, except for the graphics card.... you could use a better one lol
I said that too, what could be so bad about HP/Compaq laptops. My HDD keeps dying on me :(

Yes, the graphics are kinda sucky, but that's all they offered with the Athlon64... Oh well, it runs the Source engine well enough, granted, not with all the bells and whistles....

I'm not very rich, but with some planning and good buys, one can spend very little money in order to upgrade things > 2x at steps (XP 2100+ -> A64 3000+ = 4x faster compile of Sledge; ti4400 -> 6600gt = 2x fps in glxgears and 2x the features etc). I've done decent until recently when I bought some Twinmos memory... Don't

Ahh the old school days

except that the computer I used at hi-school had a 1 GB harddrive. We had to delete all our projects before starting the final one
