Mouse routine

Post by CoBB »

Here's a bit unusual mouse routine. I wonder how it feels on a real calc, unfortunately I can't test that myself. I'd like to hear your arbitrary number of cents on the matter.

83p is for Venus, 8xp for ION. Controls:

left/right: decrease/increase responsiveness (displayed in the top left corner in binary; default is 16)
del: quit

Movement can be performed by pulling your finger over the buttons in the 5x5 square between the x^-1 and the + buttons. You might put a piece of paper or cloth on the keyboard if that's more comfortable.

Funny stuff, it feels a bit like a laptop mousepad thingy. It's really sensitive, atleast it moves too fast to do precisional work.

What if you slow it down by pressing left a couple of times? Also, it should be slower if you move your finger slower.

Try to download it again, I decreased the multiplying factor.

This certainly is a strange project ... also shouldnt this be in the "Announce Your Projects" section?

This is not a project but a little experiment. It is rather meant as a thought-provoker for those who are thinking about creating more friendly UIs for future programs. I don't think it's practical in its present form, but it might inspire others. We are living off each other's ideas anyway. :)

Michael_V claimed to have made a similar concept program around 2 years ago. Had you heard about this or did you think it up yourself?

Yeah the concept is refreshing. Kinda like those monochromatic demos, something you don't see every day.

I haven't heard of it. Anyway, it's not a revolutionary idea by any means, so I'm not surprised I'm not the first to think about it.

i believe Kerm Martian made a 'real' mouse routine in his DOORS CS, making it possible to plug in a PS/2 mouse (you have to build your own converter cable first) and then use it.
