This should be quick and painless. I need a quick tool to take a large number or .WAV files and convert them into a (hopefully) equal number of .MP3 files. The catch? Well, a lot of these files are exported from Project64, and since they are still working out the kinks in their emulation the sound is usually spit out in less than normal bitrates. Thus, this tool needs to be able to handle these oddities without producing artifacts.
I already have a program that can do this, sort of. (Sound Companion. Simple, bug-ridden, but it works suprisingly well for what it can do.) Problem is, my version at least does not support batch conversion of any kind. I'm really looking for this mass-conversion thing, as I have hundreds of files that need to be done this way. I have a very bad habbit of not deleting stuff, and find great joy in archiviing files, can you tell?

I am pretty sure that Cool Edit Pro supports batch conversion. That program it seems has eveolved into Adobe Audition so i am not certain how it will work.
There is a trial version avaiailable for download here: http://www.adobe.com/downloads/

Ah yes, but I don't have iTunes, I am stuck with iRiver. Stupid piece of...
I was looking for something freeware, I can find pay-for programs easy with google. It just seems like an audio conversion that is so simple should be out there.
On that note, is there a plugin for an IFP-700 MP3 player for winamp?

There should be a button that says Wav->Compressed File and vice versa. You'll have to configure the output in Options first, though.thegamefreak0134 wrote:Looks good, unfortunately I need to do this to files, not CDs.There's also CDex, but I don't know how it compares with the above; guess you should try them all.
