Robot War: Project Darkstar
I'm pleased (and somewhat releived) to announce that after 30 months of development, the Robot War project is finally complete and ready to debut. The TI-82 release includes the multiplayer-ready Linked Edition, and the code-reduced Standard Edition. I'll be uploading the game within the next 5 days.

For anyone who hasn't checked out the game, this is a gameboy-styled RPG inspired by Earthbound, Pokemon, Crono Trigger, Joltima, Narkemen, and many others. Since the last demo, it's gotten some groundbreaking features like new backdrops, combinational items, and 3 vs 3 LinkBattle. The coolest new feature is the timed attack system, which lets you amplify, modify, or redirect your moves in real-time. The Project Pages feature a comprehensive game guide covering just about every subject on gameplay.
Also, I'm working with various TI communities to port the game to all Z80 machines, starting with TI-85 and the newer 82s. The linking will be cross-compatible between all versions, so you'll get to battle anyone regardless of the model. I'm also gathering suggestions for future revisions, and the upcoming Lite Edition. If you have the chance to check this out, please rate & review the program so I can impliment the ideas.

Right now, there's no set rollout order, but I've already gotten an offer from someone to create a TI-85 version. Thanks to the TI Unification FAQ, versions for 83 should only take a few months after I find a programmer.
The file system will be the toughest part to port, but that worked for Mario so I'm not ~too concerned. If Mirage has functions built-in for creating save-game files, that will be an added bonus. Because of the game size, most likely this would be an app for 73, 83+, and 84+.

Definiely make 83+ version highest priority. I believe it's the most popular calc for calc gaming. Also, shouldn't be that hard of a port from 82(right?)katmaster wrote:It sounds REALLY good. (pulls out and polishes beat up 83+.......oh crap i dont know where the polish is )
P.S. make the 83+ version HIGHEST priority. (hint, hint, I don't have an 82)
Maybe you should bug Jim e to do it. He stated in the Pindur TI forum
See! A calc programmer with free time Maybe something could actually get finished!Jim e wrote:If you like interrupt testing fun() I wrote this some time ago. It shows the upper and lower bounds of the interrupts based on clocks cycles. I have to much free time.
