right-click and download cause i didnt compress it. this is a beta. the Oxygen (timer) and bonus point boxes dont do anything yet, so dont worry about them. try to go throught the airlocks to reach the end of the level. airlocks are half whith half black box and you need to get a key for each airlock in the level. there are 2 levels in the beta. be careful, the character moves pretty fast. too fast really, i may have to slow it down.

what do you think?

sets of 10. remember how mario had level sets. i could do em like that. you could have 10*thenumberofsetsthatfitonthecalc concievably. i plan to make 40 or so. any suggestions? gameplay, future things? i still plan to add on more action tiles like the ones in the screenshot. tubes, warps, trampolines etc.

if you have sets of ten, have more lives. also, you should probably slow it down...

well i am definitly going to slow it down. and you will be able to get more lives when ive put in points and oxygen bonus's. every certain amount of points is an extra life. and necro, this was just a straight port, but ive though about adding weapons and enemies, but not until a sequel. this first one is mostly a puzzle/platform jumper.

I was contacted today by the makers of Spacestation Pheta, TandTSoftware. they mus have googled their name looking for software violations of their newer, more useful programs, and found this site.
Dont worry i didnt get a cease and desist and no one is in trouble.
heres the letter.
T and T Software wrote:I am glad to hear about your interest in Spacestation Pheta, and I encourage
you to write your own software. Spacestation Pheta is copyrighted and
trademarked material so you cannot port or release the game under that same
name without written permission of T&T Software. Having said that, I can
probably sanction your version of the game as long as you keep it limited to
the z80 Texas Instruments calculators. A version was underway for Palm but
is not yet finished. Please send me an animated screen shot.

my reply:
Me wrote:The screen shot shows no credits, only
gameplay in the first level and it is a little blurrier and slower than
the actual game. I will not transpose the game to anything but the
83/83+ family of TI calculators, but if it becomes popular others may
port it to other TI calsc or Casio calcs, though the amount of games
already available for both makes this unlikely.

Paul
and their reply
T and T Software wrote:Paul,

Okay. I approve the port including the use of the name. The approval is
limited to the 83/83+ family of TI calculators. I request that you amend
your existing credits to say that it is ported with permission of T&T
Software but is otherwise not affiliated, warranted or supported by T&T
Software.

Do you have any interest in completing the port to the Palm OS? The color
graphics are done for low and high res (160x160 and 320x320), but little or
no animation. Although the animation and sound engine that was used for Gold
Digger was ported to the Palm OS 5 in the language "C" and the Palm 5 API.
My vision was to use this engine. I was going to create the screen editor on
the palm and port all of the existing screens. Only a few sample animations
using the port of the engine are coded, so you'd have to start from there or
possibly do your own thing. Very little else has been done. I could pay you
something, although not a lot so you'd have to do it mostly out of interest.
Although I could agree to pay a small royalty based on sales; I have no idea
how well it would sell. Think about it. It is not necessarily a quick or
easy project. Another person started to convert the game to OS X and never
finished. If you start I would like to see it get finished. If you're
interested tell me more about your programming background.

i am excited about that lasst bit. I just need to learn palm os c or mac os x c++. Doesnt someone here know palm c? they may pay you...

I guess this is the closest thing anyone here will get to a real cease-and-desist letter :P .

:o Not only are they NOT preventing you from continuing the project, but they WANT you to work on other ports, get paid royalties even! Wow. That's lucky! Wonder how they found you..
