Vote for the new Subject of the programming competition!

Finally! As we all know we submitted a lot of idea's. But there were some idea's which really were good. Now the time has come to vote. Why not earlier? Well, we had to wait for a mod which could 'hide' the votes until the poll expires. Otherwise people could see who would win, and already begin to work, which would be kind of unfair.

We are trying to make the competition even bigger than last year. We will contact ticalc.org to join, but don't count on it.

Of course, Greenfire is history, so the competition will now be named 'Maxcoderz Programming Competition' (which is shorter anyway), aka MPC.

Whether Basic will be included in the competition or not, is yet to be decided.

Also the rules are not yet determined. They will not be the same as last year.

You can vote for 4 weeks, starting today!

(If I forgot an idea, please tell me, and I will add it... I don't have the old posts right now, so I am not sure... I think we talked also about a interpreter, but seeing that MLC is already in development, I decided to take that one out)

Well, without further delay, let the votings start :P

Would it be possible to submit old projects for such a competition? I know there's a Tamigotchi clone already on ticalc.org, you see.

No sir. As last year it is not possible to submit an project which already has been released. Nor will it be allowed to post any information/screens about your project.

can you give some more detail on the first option? Is it like an animation?

*hands over cough sweets*

Actually, I wasn't going to enter the competition anyway. I haven't the time, and I don't have any projects worthy of it.

I can't try monochromatic now (ion doesn't work on my vti, and my serial link is dead), so i'll assume you mean animation.

Ofcourse I can't say what I voted for but it wasn't a demo. That will require 'alot' of time and isn't that easy for alot of people.

I voted for the monocromatic like animation. I also think that BASIC should be included like last year (with the possibility of using Omnicalc or Zsprite as well). That way everyone can participate. (altough I don't know if I'll participate this year)

I'll participate this time for sure! I guess pong wasn't motivating enough for me, all these 3 ideas are great feedingbeds for new games!

If the country thing was chosen (and if i'd participate) i'd have to make something about wooden shoes, windmills and stuff? :S

And i agree with Kevin that basic should be included, but not with external assembly. That's cheating.

BASIC should be included since there are those who don't know how to program very well in the world of ASM. Also, the BASIC games should be made without any ASM libraries included as ASM libs would create less of a challenge :D.

Why doesn't Ion work on your VTI and how do you use VTI without it?

1. I don't know why it doesn't work, i heard you need a special Ion.
2. I program in nostub in vti 2.5, and app in vti 3.0. I don't like Ion anyway.
