So you mean, like, she just fights his upper torso? I suppose that'd work. Stick some lava beneath there, or perhaps spikes, and you'd be set. That'd allow for greater detail because you'd be able to focus on making a specific area large but wouldn't have to worry about doing a ton of detail for the rest of him because there wouldn't BE a rest of him. Sounds like a plan. We'll see what the Joester comes up with.

Actually, thats a pretty good idea. Good thinking guys :).

But no matter what they do, it will still be awesome! :).

Are there any other bosses though? Any additional ones?

Ok, why not have a sub-boss that fills an area with monsters? Save the giant two-screen boss for the last fight.

Having a room full of monsters might be processing-intensive.. it'd be best to just have a boss, really.

yeah. you could always have a gauntet style thing where you go room after room taking on monsters with limited chances to heal and no way to go back. this is a great alternative to having lots of enemies at once or creating a huge monster that will be rarely used yet takes up lots of code space.

Like the arena in Castlevania: Circle of the Moon?

Cyan wrote:Yeah, umm... Kraid. That big thing? Yeah... not quite possible on the poor processor of the Ti-83/+. We (meaning Joe and I) decided that a 5 (maybe more) screen tall boss would just be too much. Tile wise, that would add another near 140 tiles (not including the animated ones). Thats just too much. However, a smaller version might be made (maybe 1-2 screens tall). But, again, we'll see. One step at a time, one step at a time....
Ok I know this is very very old (I missed this thread when I got back internet), but that kraid looked awesome and I really wish to see him in the game. A 1/2 or 2 screen version would be ok, even if he doesn't move at all. Also if there is some tiles that are one color only you could use the same for some kraid body area. Just an example of what could be done:

Kevin, if you can make that happen, I know Joe and Cyan can o_o
