Very, very impressive. Will this use Occlusion Culling?

Hmm I wonder would OC hurt more than it would help in this case where we only have 1 CPU?

Occlusion culling is a relatively new method used for very free-form and even dynamic scenes which pose a lot of overdraw and dense environments. Both geometric and image-based OC work very well on 1 CPU, Unreal and Lyncis have proven that.
About the issue of OC being practical; not a single bit on low-perf calcs. They're better off with heavily precomputed, static spatial structures.

Anything would be great. I'd love to play a 3d space shooting game like space dementia. An FPS would be neat too. :) :excited:

will the engine be able to have transparency...also, what kinds of polys can it render? Regardless...I bet it could do something like tank hunter pretty well.

In black and white transparency is the absense of a blocking object...

To essentially rephrase the question, will there be masking?
just try to be nice to people.

And here, after reading the first half your sentance, I though you were going to say you made something like this a few years ago.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

That demo is amazing. However, I noticed that without the lcd fix program, the display gets messed up after a little while of running this on an 84+SE. With it, it works fine.
:x Stupid TI display drivers :x

Katmaster: great idea. I planned to use this as a screensaver as well. :)

Hmm, how about a competition? Who can make the best game with this new engine in, say, the next 3 months? :excited:

Leave it on for a while. It may take a few minutes. If you haven't run the LCD fix program, it will probably appear that the right 1/3 of your screen is frozen, and the entire display is compressed in to the remaining 2/3. This can also happen in some games. (I've seen it happen much faster in phantom star) You should put this program on your calc. It can fix a bunch of problems that are caused by the bad display drivers. Here is a link.

We've all written Basic 3D engines (or I guess most of us have), and they are all slow and useless. So apart from proving CompWiz right, what exactly are you trying to say?
