Yes, I am announcing a new project, believe it or not

I've been getting more questions about the specifics of calculator linking recently. It appears that people are still interested in these things, so I figured "why not make a few videos to explain the basics, must be easier than doing it in writing"

So I've made two videos last weekend about controlling the link port and sending over bytes. I'm kinda busy for the coming period but when I have the time and inspiration I plan on making a few more on implementation issues, 3+ calc networking and the lot. Who knows.

Now, since I'm kinda out of the TI calc scene, if anyone could point me in the direction of the three or so most lively fora where I should also post this announcement, that would be greatly appreciated

Wow, nice to see you doing some calc. stuff again. Omnimaga (http://www.omnimaga.org) and Cemetech (http://www.cemetech.net) are the most popular English language forums these days. For the french speaking community you have Ti-Planet (http://tiplanet.org/forum/portal.php).

I've watched the first one and have bookmarked the second for later viewing - very good information and clearly spoken about. It's very nice to see this sort of video presentation (you also do not have as strong an accent as I was expecting from the title card).

Cemetech and Omnimaga (as mentioned above) are probably your best bets for activity; Cemetech seems to attract more low-level calculator programming fans than Omnimaga, but this is information anyone could take on board.

I would indeed strongly recommend stopping by Cemetech, as we have plenty of budding and expert z80 ASM coders who tend to struggle more often than not with link port manipulation. On an off-topic note, welcome back, and thanks for your inspiration over the years to finally get my CALCnet networking protocol functional. As my first demo, I even replicated your multi-calc bouncing ball demo.

Wow these are great Timendus, I always wanted to venture into linking but never got around to it...in fact I never got around to a lot of my projects ha.

Thanks! My collection is stretching near 30 calculators now, I believe; those were the ones that weren't being glitchy when I made that video. It feels pretty smooth in action; you're welcome to try it out (Flourish), also NetPong, Obliterate, Sandpaper, Chat DE, and the Gossamer web browser, all of which use CALCnet and/or globalCALCnet.

@Timendus: If your french "isn't that great" then it's better than mine. My french skills are practically non-existent. I mentioned TI-Planet for completeness sake and because it is from what I understand pretty active.

I do, somewhere. I wasn't planning on putting that back online though. What do you want it for?

I'm writing a similar library for spasm (FunkLibrary). Yours would be useful to check completeness and maybe port parts of it .
